2025 Thematic Focus Areas

Sustainable Infrastructure:
Building Resilient & Smart Systems: With 68% of the world’s population projected to live in cities by 2050, smart urban and data-driven systems are essential to optimize urban services, enhance efficiency, and create future-ready, connected cities. These innovations drive economic growth and improve quality of life for all.

Future-Ready Skills
Developing the Urban Workforce: By 2030, over 375 million workers globally will need to adapt to automation and digital transformation, with urban economies at the forefront of this shift. Equipping the workforce with future-ready skills is essential for fostering economic growth and social inclusion. Public-private partnerships and lifelong learning initiatives will be key to ensuring cities remain competitive and inclusive in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Empowering People
Inclusive Cities for All: Inclusive cities prioritize equity, accessibility, and opportunities for all, focusing on marginalized groups through affordable housing, education, and digital inclusion. People-centric urban planning fosters social cohesion and ensures no one is left behind in shaping the cities of the future.
